Why do people take things for granted? It is imperative that we acknowledge good deeds and provide feedback when appropriate. When the complacency sets in and is visible its almost too late to recover a relationship, one should therefore look for tell tale signs that are a precursor before complacency sets in. Recently I had an experience where I witnessed an excellent relationship built by an individual start to crumble because the person that took over the relationship never really owned it. This neglect created a tone towards the downward spiral and now recovering the relationship is almost twice as difficult than what it took while creating the relationship in the first place.
